Dear Friends,

We want everyone to know that Surprise Lake Camp is a camp, not a school or a resort, so you should come prepared to revisit memories of camp fires, s’mores, swimming, boating, and hiking in the woods!   With sensible shoes, a pair of long pants, a sweater and a rain poncho (just in case), you should be well prepared to enjoy the clean fresh air, commune with nature, and revel with new friends and old in a truly memorable spiritual retreat.

What you need to know about housing:  Most of the housing consists of clusters of camper cabins. Each cabin has two large rooms with 5 single beds in each and one smaller room with two single beds.  For each cluster of 5 cabins there is a separate building with toilets, sinks and showers (so bring a flashlight).  Cabins with double beds and bathrooms are limited, so they will be allocated by request on a first-come (i.e. paid registration), first-served basis.   The registrar will house families together and attempt to accommodate other requests, if possible.

Linens:  You may bring your own sheets, towels, pillows and blankets, or you may rent linens for all three days for just $7 per person.

Off-campus Housing:  Those who would prefer not to rough it (and don’t mind missing out on half the fun!) have the option of staying at a nearby hotel. We have secured a block of rooms at the nearest Ramada Conference Center for participants staying off-campus.  Please note the details:

Please note: If you plan to stay off-campus, but will attend the school for more than one day - we recommend using the two-day or full session registration options, while noting on the registration form that you are staying off-campus.
